WHAT IS THE AVERAGE TIMELINE / TURNAROUND TIME?
Brand design or rebrands, generally take around 2 months from start to finish. Timeline depends greatly on clients: the time it takes for you to complete the brand questionnaire, give feedback, and the number of brand spaces + revisions you ask for. Websites are more time consuming and require more content from clients and planning, which typically make completion an additional 2-6 months after the brand design depending on the size of the site.
I'M JUST STARTING OUT AND THIS FEELS LIKE A BIG INVESTMENT. IS IT WORTH IT? CAN I WAIT?
Ultimately the answer to this question varies for every client. Most larger agencies charge $20k-$100k+, and while we don't have every expertise an agency might have, we are brand design experts that can bring you strategic, quality design at a fraction of the cost. The reality of our business, is we are either getting clients at the very beginning (where it does feel like an investment), or down the line when the brand is at the point of needing help. It is always easier up front, and takes less time and less money initially if it's done right, than coming back again later.
As far as its worth, we are in a digital world where upcoming generations are expecting good user experience and are already conditioned to powerful branding. This is now something that is not just a "nice to have," but a "must have." If you're not convinced, see the difference it's made for some of our clients and their industries.
HOW MUCH DOES A BRANDING PROJECT COST?
See our services page for more information around pricing. Contact us for a custom quote.
WHAT DOES PAYMENT LOOK LIKE?
We require a 40% deposit up front to book your place on our calendar and start the work, and the remaining payment will be required before we hand over your final files. Payment can be made via ACH, check, or credit card.
HOW CAN I EXPECT YOU TO COMMUNICATE?
The majority of communication will be using email or Google Meet. In some retainer clients, we give out personal phone numbers, but otherwise, we try to stick with email + video calls.
IS PRINTING INCLUDED IN THE COST?
Printing is never included in the cost of our packages. However, we have lots of great printers we work with that we would be happy to point you towards OR coordinate printing your designs with. We do charge hourly if we are also coordinating printing of your collateral.
HOW DO YOU HAND OFF THE FINAL FILES?
We provide files for both print and web, along with any packaged design files you may need. At completion of the project, we send you access to a Google Drive folder where you will be responsible to download the zip of all files and save it on your drive, computer, dropbox, hard drive, flash drive, etc. I always tell clients, although I normally keep all previous design files, once the hand-off is made, the responsibility now falls on you and I am no longer liable for the designs. I always recommend saving them in multiple places in case you lose access to one place.
HOW CAN I BE SURE I'LL LIKE WHAT YOU DESIGN?
Ultimately, we can't. However, our body of work is a good place to start. If you generally like the work we design, odds are you'll be pleased with what we design. We do however provide the right to back out after you see the designs, but the 40% deposit is non-refundable and you will not have access to the designs. We have never had anyone take us up on this, so our record of this is unlikely.
I JUST WANT A LOGO AND KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I WANT IT TO LOOK LIKE. CAN YOU HELP?
If you know what you want it to look like, then you aren't looking for a designer, you're just looking for someone with computer software abilities. Since we provide research and strategy to every design, (and candidly, I don't think I could do it any other way in good nature), we would not be a good fit for this project.
I'M NOT BASED IN PENNSYLVANIA, CAN YOU STILL HELP?
Yes! Since we work remotely, we currently work with clients as close as our backyard, and as far as Belize.
WE NEED COLLATERAL AND A WEBSITE TOO, CAN YOU HELP?
Absolutely. All of our packages are custom fit to your needs. We can provide help with ongoing collateral, as well as a website design. Our websites are generally designed in WIX, but we also have done larger sites pairing with a developer; the cost is just increasingly more in that case.
WE HAVE AN ESTABLISHED BRAND (OR YOU DID OUR BRAND YEARS AGO), CAN WE STILL HIRE YOU FOR ONGOING DESIGN WORK?
Certainly. We always welcome back existing clients, or clients with strong, established branding. In these cases, we can either take on your needs at an hourly basis, hire us for a day, or become one of our monthly retainer clients.
HOW DO WE HIRE YOU FOR A DAY?
A few times a year, we book a client for a day. It is a $1,000 flat fee, that includes 6 hours of double-designer design time + 1 hour of planning time beforehand. We select a day where you will be available virtually throughout the entire day, and we bang out as many items on your list as possible. Typically we are able to accomplish 2-4 items during this time period depending on what they are. Items that are a good fit for design day: business cards, website updates, social media templates or designs, interactive PDFs or ebooks, brochures or postcards, or swag like tshirts, hats, signage, etc. Payment is due at the start of the day, and at the end of the day, you will have access to all your files. Desired collateral and content are due 3 business days before the planned design day, and we tend to book these out at least 1 month in advance.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DESIGN AND MARKETING?
Both of these are intertwined in what we do, however we are a design-first agency. We are believers, that good design is a pillar for good marketing. By definition, marketing is the process or technique of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service, whereas design tends to revolve around the emotion and experience of the content, and how that content is portrayed. We incorporate marketing your business into our strategy by researching your business, target audience, competitors, and doing a competitive visual landscape of your industry. All our designers have backgrounds + education in both design and marketing, as they are powerful when paired together.
